Senior test consult at Länsförsäkringar Fondliv Försäkring AB
(FEB 2023 - Mars 2024)
In the Maze Navigators team, I joined as a specialist in testing and quality assurance to enhance the team's capacity. The project focused on the development and management of applications to facilitate the selection of suitable insurance solutions for both internal and external agents.
By providing intuitive tools, the team aimed to streamline the advisors' workflows while ensuring that compliance rules were meticulously followed. During my time with Maze Navigators, I was involved in implementing automation using Playwright along with Gherkin.
By sharing my expertise, I raised the team's understanding of the importance of automation and prepared them for the considerations that should be made before its implementation. This knowledge transfer was highly valued, leading to requests from other teams for me to share my insights.
Tools/Methodologies:
ReadyAPI/POSTMAN/SWAGGER for API testing, SQLMANAGER for database and SPLUNK for logs and error handeling, and ZAP (OWASP) for security analyses. Länsförsäkringar implements its projects by following the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology, integrated with Microsoft Azure for cloud-based solutions.
Technical tester at livsförsäkringsbolaget Skandia (DEC 2016 - FEB 2023)
In the Identification/Signing and Fraud Management team, "Login and Security," I stepped in as the sole tester.
As it is the bank's most central team, it is crucial to have an exceptionally good overview of the services involved. Having good communication with other teams and keeping up with each other's planning is incredibly important. Here, I became interested in Security Testing and, through Skandia's internal training "Security Journey," had the opportunity to develop in the field.
Tools/Methodologies:
Covering Web/iOS-Xcode/Android Studio (both app and web on mobile devices) is nearly impossible for a lone tester to do by themselves. Automation plays a significant role here, where I was involved from the beginning, i.e., going through unit tests with the developers, SQLMANAGER for database and SPLUNK for logs and error handling, API tests in C# and Postman, component, and E2E (end to end) tests with Cypress. Skandia implements its projects by following the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology, integrated with Microsoft Azure for cloud-based solutions.
I started as a consultant but later became a permanent employee in July 2018.
QA på ASSA ABLOY
(AUG 2016 - NOV 2016)
SEOS is the platform developed by ASSA ABLOY. It is used to open doors in residential buildings, hotels, universities, hospitals, and all types of office and commercial buildings. SEOS offers the capability to use both smart cards and smartphones to unlock doors. I was brought in as an additional resource to the QA team responsible for the ASSA ABLOY "Mobile Keys" app for both iOS & Android. Here, I also had the opportunity to plan and execute structured and exploratory testing, as well as set up an automated regression test for both apps. I also participated in a project that was classified under NDA.
Tools/Methodologies:
POSTMAN for API testing, SQLMANAGER for database. Web/iOS-Xcode/Android Studio (both app and web on mobile devices). ASSA ABLOY implements its projects by following the SCRUM methodology and uses JIRA to track the work process.
QA på Schibsted "Weight Club"
(APR 2015 - JUL 2016)
Schibsted's "Weight Club" is about health and weight control where customers could register their progress on iOS, Android, and the web. Sigurjon was brought in as an additional resource when the project was in a tight spot, and testing needed support. Sigurjon quickly stepped in and delivered on all three platforms and also contributed to decisions that changed the future of the app. Here, Sigurjon delved into app testing and realized the importance of being involved in planning and development for iOS and Android devices.
Tools/Methodologies:
MAC, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Web/iOS-Xcode/Android Studio (both app and web on mobile devices). Schibsted implements its projects by following the SCRUM methodology and JIRA to track the work process.
QA på Schibsted "KLART.SE"
(AUG 2015 - JUL 2016)
Klart.se is one of Sweden's most downloaded/used weather apps and visited sites. However, Klart.se had not made any changes to their iOS app for some time and was now going to build a completely new app "from scratch". Sigurjon was part of a team where he was to develop a testing strategy and ensure the quality of the app. During this time, he was also involved in the Weight Club app, which made his planning and communication with the teams especially important. Wearing multiple hats is something Sigurjon prefers.

(APR 2012- FEB 2014)
AGORA is Scania's social networking tool used to share experiences and new ideas among Scania employees worldwide. The product is delivered by the IT company TIBCO, based in California. Given this, it was important that planning accommodated both Scania and Tibco, including deployment schedules. Sigurjon was solely responsible for system testing and support for acceptance testing. He participated in the requirements work with review and updating of requirements. As a test designer, he wrote test cases based on requirements, with the connection between test cases and requirements made visible through a traceability matrix. The test design work included writing test cases, running test cases with both positive and negative outcomes in both structured and exploratory testing methods. Bug reporting, bug report management, and all testing were handled in Jira with Zephyr.
Scania Supplier Portal (SSP) is aimed at Scania's various suppliers worldwide. Scania chose to build its portal infrastructure on IBM WebSphere Portal. The portal had been without updates for a long time and was now upgrading from portal 5.0 to 8.0. Sigurjon was solely responsible for system testing, support for acceptance testing, and participated in the requirements work with review and updating of requirements.
